Privacy policy
TryCart is operated by Kyle Marham, trading as Blue Dog Digital, in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what we collect through the trycart.app website and the TryCart Shopify app, and what we do with it.
What we collect on this website
If you join the launch-notes list we store the email address you give us, and nothing else. We use it to send occasional product updates. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can ask us to delete your address at any time at hello@trycart.app.
What the Shopify app collects
When a merchant installs TryCart we receive, through Shopify’s APIs and with the merchant’s explicit OAuth approval: the shop domain, the products and collections the merchant enables for try-before-you-buy, and order metadata needed to run trials (order IDs, line items, trial windows, capture status). We do not receive or store cardholder data — payments are handled entirely by Shopify Payments.
Customer data
Trial orders include the shopper details Shopify shares with any order webhook (name, email, shipping address). We use them solely to operate the merchant’s trials and never for our own marketing. We honour Shopify’s mandatory GDPR webhooks: when a shopper or merchant requests deletion through Shopify, the matching records are deleted automatically.
Retention and storage
Data lives on servers in the EU (Hetzner, Germany). Waitlist emails are kept until you unsubscribe. App data is deleted within 30 days of a merchant uninstalling, in line with Shopify’s requirements.
Sharing
We don’t sell or share personal data with third parties. The only processors involved are our hosting provider and Shopify itself.
Your rights
Under UK and EU GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. Email hello@trycart.app and we’ll action it within 30 days. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you think we’ve mishandled your data.
